Our Story

Selvedge Brewing is a Virginia craft brewery focused on unique small-batch, culinary-inspired beers. Simply, these are beers crafted to be paired with food. And food that is best with beer. Named for the original wool fabrics produced when the mill was a mill, Selvedge beers range from New-England-style IPAs to pastry stouts - and everything in between.

Watch for new beer releases in the coming weeks.

Our Story Our Food

Our Food

The Wool Factory Executive Chef Tucker Yoder offers a menu of casual eats: the ultimate bar food, elevated with locally sourced ingredients. Consider local mushroom tacos, wings from River Oak Farm, and a smashburger - with crinkle-cut fries, of course!

Current Beers

Poplin

Italian Style Pilsner

Say hello to our little friend, Poplin, an Italian-style pilsner. A snappy dresser with bitterness to match, this pilsner has a honey sweetness from the German pilsner malt and a slight cracker-like flavor from the biscuit malt. What makes this pils Italian (despite being born in the USA)? Answer: The crispness that comes from the addition of German Perle, Hallertau Mittelfruh, and Mandarina Bavaria hops as well as the dry hopping we did with Hallertau Mittelfruh and Mandarina Bavaria.

Denim

American Style Lager

You know that feeling when you flip up your collar on that stonewash jean jacket while Kenny Loggins blasts from your tape deck? Our Denim lager gives us those feels - you’re headed to the danger zone and nothing can stop you. This is your dad’s beer in the best way possible.

  • ABV: 4.9%
  • IBU: 7

Lederhosen

Berliner Weisse

Hoist up your Lederhosen and enjoy this classic Berliner Weisse. Refreshingly tart with a slightly bready finish, this low ABV beer is perfect for crushing on a hot day and pairs great with food. Prost!

  • ABV: 3.2%
  • IBU: 2

Britches Get Stitches

West Coast IPA

What do you do when your favorite selvedge denim gets ripped? Britches Get Stitches. [pause for laughter] This classic West Coast IPA has a clean, crisp, malt backbone that allows Idaho Gem, Columbus, and Mosaic hops to shine. Subtle grapefruit and mango flavors balance nicely with dank and piney notes making for a super crushable IPA.

  • ABV: 6.6%
  • IBU: 58

Herringbone

NE Style Single IPA

Dress it up or dress it down – Herringbone is a classic fabric for a reason. Our New England style single IPA is a solid go-to IPA that hits all the notes we want in a hoppy beer. We added Hull Melon, Azacca and Citra hops both during the whirlpool stage, as well as a single dry hop.

  • ABV: 6.5%
  • IBU: 38

Boys to the Yarn

New England Double IPA

Our milkshake-style IPA brings all the…well you get it. We hit this hazy double IPA with a good amount of milk sugar during the brew process which makes this beer slightly creamy–hence the milkshake moniker. Plenty of hoppy goodness from a double dose of El Dorada and Citra hops which provide plenty of tropical fruit notes making for a perfect balance of sweet, citrus, and bitterness–darn right it’s better than yours.

  • ABV: 7.6%
  • IBU: 30

Flannel No. 1

Pastry Stout

Just like the quintessential wool fabric, this beer is comforting and welcome in any season. We used lactose and seven different malts, producing a perfectly-balanced and complex beer with notes of chocolate, smoked almonds, and coffee. Smooth and sweet, with just the right amount of bitterness. Just like Taylor Swift.

  • ABV: 7.5%
